ORIGIN OF THE NAME
The name "Asia" is believed to have originated from the ancient Greeks, who used the term "Ἀσία" (Asia) to refer to the lands east of Greece. The exact etymology is unclear, but it may have derived from the Akkadian word "Asu," meaning "east."
