ORIGIN OF THE NAME

The name "Europe" is believed to originate from the ancient Greek word "Eurแน“pฤ“," which was used to refer to the mainland north of the Mediterranean Sea. The exact etymology is unclear, but it may be connected to the Phoenician word "Ereb," meaning "sunset" or "west."
